“From the moment of birth, every human being wants to discover happiness and avoid suffering.  No differences in our culture or our education or our religion affect this.”

-Dalai Lama  The Book of Joy

Dear friends,

Over the years, I’ve listened to many life stories and have been amazed at the number of folks who live with great joy, in spite of their struggles.  It seems to me that the people who have struggled the are often also the most compassionate and happy.  I want to find out why.

Thus, as a writer (and a fellow seeker of happiness) I’ve created The Bright Heart Project with the hopes of helping us better understand of the nature of joy and suffering.

Rather than seek out great saints or spiritual leaders to get my answers, I am first going to real people who live life, do their thing, find joy and struggle in the day to day.  I believe true wisdom lies there. Thus I am offering this project based on interviews with people like yourself, who suffer…and find joy.

First and foremost my goal is to offer people the opportunity to be heard.  Great healing can come from simply being listened two. Secondly, I hope through sharing these stories, we can collectively tap deeper into in our own lives and together celebrate this beautiful journey we’re on.

With deep gratitude,

Becky Pourchot
